Clemency Motion Graphics

This short tale of abuse and revenge was directed by Joseph Albanese.

Three motion graphics sequences were redone or tweaked from original designs by the editor and VFX artist:

1) Opening and closing sequences, shot in 16mm, were colored and composited to resemble 1970′s-style Super8 footage. Extensive attention to detail made sure that the projection borders, warmth of color, and dirt and grime were accurate.

2) End credits, composited over the end Super8 footage, were redone for better spatial composition as well as changing copy and text. Two copies were delivered accounting for two possible end song credits.

3) An existing and highly impressive opening VFX title sequence by designer Jonathan Ficcadenti was edited in two ways: Ficcadenti’s cameo as the author of an article at the end of the sequence was dimmed so as to not be too distracting, and the opening title itself, originally in a gloomy blue-gray hue, was recolored to match the orange/red of the rest of the opening titles.

The files were received as well as delivered as HD cineon files, ready to be printed to film for the final product.
