King Soundworks Website

King Soundworks, a sound design boutique run by mixer/designer Greg King, has mixed movies and TV shows as diverse as Fantasia 2000, The Kingdom, and Friday Night Lights (both the TV show and the movie). It was a huge honor to be asked by them to design their entire online identity, from logo, to motion graphics, to brand new website.

Provided with copy and various images, Greasy Pig Studios was also provided with the general asthetic that vaguely recalled classic biker culture, without being alienatingly masculine. We conceived of a website that resembled the back of a biker’s jeans pocket, with pins, wallet, and crumpled up paper. It nicely coincided with King Soundworks’ mantra of being fiercely independent artists who aren’t afraid to get down in the dirt to get the sound they need.

Greasy Pig Studios set the site up via WordPress, with an entirely customized King Soundworks theme. The background images were a mixture of stock photography and custom photographed elements composited together in Photoshop. The site features embedded Google maps, and Shadowbox to provide the smooth gallery images.

(As you can see we are quite fond of Shadowbox here at GPS)

The short Flash intro is a motion graphic sequence designed and conceived by Greasy Pig Studios, with sound design by King Soundworks.
